Bible
Memory Verse:
Please encourage your child to work daily in hiding God's Word in their heart. The focus this week is on Jesus. There will be a test each Thursday.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17
Math
My class is made up of a variety of different math classes, therefore please check your child's planner to know what homework they might have.
Language Arts
Your child should be reading a book of their choice at least 20 mins each night. They should write down the title of the book they read, the pages they read, and when completed, ask you to sign in their planner that they completed the reading for the night.
Your child will be receiving their Spelling words each Thursday so that they have time to practice over the weekend. Tests will be the following Thursday.
I am adding two geography words each week to our lists. I believe it is important for the children to be responsible with learning the correct spelling of the states and countries of our world.

Science
We are finishing up Chapter 4 with the children presenting their booklets next week.
Please encourage them to be wrapping up their booklet this weekend. We will have Monday to tie up any loose ends and to pull it all together. I plan on starting presentations Tuesday and finishing on Wednesday.
The project is for them to make a short booklet on their three organisms and to show how they are interconnected with each other, but also with all of the other organisms within our Bitterroot Valley ecosystem.
KEY POINTS:
Every organism is part of a larger system.
Organisms have needs that make them dependent on a system.
Balance is required for the health of a system.
Imbalance causes destruction.
History
We are beginning Chapter 4, Busy Cities, after Christmas break.
Chapter Focus:
Lessons learned from the Civil War helped businesses grow.
Check out free tickets to 4th graders from the Forest Service!
Also! Free Christmas Tree Permits for Fourth Graders! Through the Every Kid Outdoors (EKO) program, fourth graders are eligible for one FREE Christmas tree permit! Fourth graders must present a valid EKO pass or paper voucher at a Bitterroot National Forest office to receive a free permit. To obtain the pass or paper voucher, fourth graders need to visit www.everykidoutdoors.gov. Vouchers can also be redeemed on Recreation.gov.

Science
We are finishing up Chapter 4 next week. This chapter is on the System of Life.
The students are finishing up their work on their project for this chapter. The project is for them to make a short booklet on their three organisms and to show how they are interconnected with each other, but also with all of the other organisms within our Bitterroot Valley ecosystem.
They have all picked out their organisms and have been researching and working on their projects mainly in class. Ask them about what they chose!
The project will be due on December 14th so we will have time to present all of the projects the last week before Christmas vacation.
Here’s a copy of the project’s expectations.
