This newsletter is a window for you to see what is coming in the week ahead. 


                                                                                                                     

  • The Great Geography Challenge!

    Round 1 of the Great Geography Challenge is over and our two winners are Lana Learner and Ari Miller!!


    The rest of the class still needs to prove mastery of Round 1: Continents and Oceans of the World. They will be testing this next week.


    Round 2: Western States Test is next.


    Bible

    Memory Verse:

    Please encourage your child to work daily in hiding God's Word in their heart. The focus this week is on Jesus. There will be a test each Thursday.

    “For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11


    Math

    My class is made up of a variety of different math classes, therefore please check your child's planner to know what homework they might have.


    Language Arts

    Your child should be reading a book of their choice at least 20 mins each night. They should write down the title of the book they read, the pages they read, and when completed, ask you to sign in their planner that they completed the reading for the night.
    Your child will be receiving their Spelling words each Thursday so that they have time to practice over the weekend. Tests will be the following Thursday.

    Science

    We are continuing Chapter 2 next week. 

    I will be introducing our Science Project soon. The children will be responsible to create their own animal! Details to follow!

    • Order exists among the body designs and behaviors of organisms.

    • Classification helps people understand, identify, and reveal the order of living things.

    • Classification systems vary depending on the beliefs, purposes, and characteristics used.


    History

    We’re continuing with Chapter 2 next week. We are studying the rebuilding of America after the Civil War.

    KEY POINTS:

    • Americans needed to rebuild their nation with liberty and justice for all.
